International Volunteers Day 05/12/20
With the message, Together We Can Through Volunteering, UN Volunteers are encouraging everyone to make International Volunteer Day this year a worldwide moment to thank volunteers and celebrate their efforts despite all the challenges at hand. (from Volunteering Australia).
It has been a challenging year for Volunteers across the world this year with BBCR volunteers also experiencing Bush Fires, Floods and the COVID 19 pandemic.
BBCR recognises the wonderful effort, dedication and commitment that volunteers contributed to the community and it was with a sad heart we had to put all are volunteers on hold from April this year because of COVID. BBCR could not risk our most valuable resource, especially when it comes to the volunteers own wellbeing and safety.
Unfortunately BBCR have not been able to undertake the volunteer recognition events we would normally offer this year but we are hopeful with the lifting of COVID 19 restrictions we will be able to gather together to thank you all individually for your patience, understanding, flexibility and commitment to supporting us to provide services and support and strengthen our community Not just on International Volunteer day, but on every day BBCR recognises, values and appreciates how fortunate we are to have each one of you as part of our team. Margaret – Community Engagement Manager.
Volunteers are the heart of BBCR, they are the governance body of the organisation and our volunteers demonstrate what giving and sharing is all about, without needing to be paid to come to work – They are our hero’s and together we have made a life enriching difference to thousands of families across the Illawarra. BBCR CEO
I’d like to say, how much I appreciate our volunteers, for Groups, Buses and Workshops, your all so giving with your time, experience and care factor, wonderful people. A huge THANK YOU to you all, Kris Program Support Worker.
“To the HMP team thank you for all your hard work and dedication and enriching the lives of older people in our community”
Volunteers are the quiet achievers they do so much and ask for so little thank you to all BBCR volunteers together we can through volunteering make a difference. Deborah Project Development Manager
“Thank you for your passion and tireless dedication to support BBCR, our consumers and community – we couldn’t do what we do without you.” Zanna HR manager
I would like to thank all volunteers but especially my group volunteers and bus drivers who have stuck by myself and BBCR during this terrible year we all have experienced. Over the years I have had the privilege in working with some amazing volunteers, I do know without them BBCR would not be as enriched in providing such high quality services. So, a big Thank you to you all HAPPY INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY ☺ Natalia Program Support Worker
