Meadows Cottage Respite
Bay & Basin Community Resources Inc. in partnersuip with Illawarra Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre provide short term out of home respite for carers who are caring for a frail older person at home. Care plans are designed taking into account individual care needs.
This program is offered through the Meadows Cottage Respite Program and breaks are held in a four (4) bedroom home modified to suit ageing requirements. The cottage is a beautiful modern home situated in the quiet suburb of Sanctuary Point, in the heart of Jervis Bay.
The care recipient is welcome to stay for two (2) nights arriving any time after 10am on the first day with pick up by 3pm on the third day. The cottage offers regular activities, including an outing on the second day. Activities include bingo, puzzles, cards and quiet time to just read or sit in the sun enjoying the beautiful gardens (with a hat and sunscreen of course).
Transport can be provided to attend and upon conclusion of respite from the cottage, within the local area. Staff are available 24 hours a day to provide assistance with daily care needs. Each guest will have their own room and couples may share if they wish. Home cooked meals are provided according to guest preferences. There is a phone at the cottage and carers are able to ring during the stay if they wish.
For bookings, costs and inquiries please ring Illawarra Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre on 1800 059 059.
